Home Run Derby for the Classroom

Do you have trouble playing wiffle ball in the classroom? Problems you may run into are that it's unsafe, and also it can exclude students from playing. This new Home Run Derby game can get rid of that. It can include everybody and it's not difficult for all students to do. So just like any other baseball game there are batters and there is an Outfield. The batters get to hit balls off large cones, possibly hitting a homerun, and the Outfield my stay out there and get the ball whenever it comes to them. There also can be multiple batters and the goal is after the Batters hit it they must do any kind of physical activity, say 15 jumping jacks, before they can be safe but they must beat the outfielders. The outfielders have to get the ball and must throw it to other classmates, they cannot move after they have grabbed the ball so there must be a person by the cone who can just set the ball right on the it. So the outfielders rush to get all the batter's out and the batter's rush to do their physical activities before they get out. This game is very inclusive and works great with large classrooms so if you're in one of those larger classrooms and you have all these kids this game is perfect for that.

  1. I really think this game is a great idea Jared. Being a baseball player, anything that involves it will be fun to me. I like how the game also includes students getting some physical activity. It also is a great way to get every student involved in many ways. Playing games like this in class will keep the students on task and get them great physical activity for that day.
